Yoga, ministry, & lifestyle

Meet Dana

I am Dana Renee Taft, a generous, energetic, and vivacious lover of God, yoga, and life itself. I adore the daily opportunities I have to bring together my skills as a certified Behavioral Life Coach, a loving pastor, and a long-time yoga instructor in order to help you be your best self. I passionately believe that life is about all of you— body, soul, and spirit — and I have dedicated myself to bringing the light and color back into my clients’ lives.

Beyond my areas of expertise, I am always passionate about being a fun-loving wife to Chris Taft, my husband of 11 years and former NBA player. From meeting at a club to ministering together, we’ve seen it all and loved every minute. I am also a mother to three awe-inspiring and incredibly tall young people, Kayla, David and Ethan, and our family lives in Nashville, TN with our ferociously goofy puppy, Tucker.

More to the story...

Dana is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. After being a practitioner for over 10 years, Dana discovered Baptiste Yoga, a style of vigorous asana, self-inquiry, and meditation. Exploring the Baptiste style sparked a deeper love for yoga, and is the power Vinyasa yoga style in which she received her formal teacher training. Since then, through the Baptiste Institute, Dana has trained directly under founder Baron Baptiste and completed over 150 additional hours in the Art of Assisting.

As a pastor’s daughter, Dana had always believed that in “everything she did, it would be done as unto the Lord” (Colossians 3:23), and yoga is no exception! Her classes are themed to biblical lessons, worship, prayer, and spiritual introspection. Dana will never turn down a pose, but she gets a particular rush out of upside-down asanas and arm balances, and teaches her unique flavor of yoga to clients all around the world.

When not teaching yoga, Dana is a certified Behavioral Life Coach and an ordained minister. Her passionate love for people is apparent in the way she generously coaches, loves, and leads everyone around her.

If that wasn’t enough, you can find her on the board of her husband's full-time ministry designed to bring Christ, mentorship, literacy, and basketball to all nations.

Dana believes that in yoga, there is no arrival at perfect – just practice! Her honest, balanced approach to both the body, soul, and spirit has given her a truly special perspective to share as she illuminates the world.

I am here to bring out the God-flavors of this earth; shine to bring out the God-colors in the world; be open and generous with my life, prompting others to open up with God, this generous Father in Heaven.”

her personal mission statement is:

– Matthew 5:13-16 (MSG)

She brings these open and generous qualities into her family first, and then to the world of yoga, coaching, pastoring, and more. Dana is married to former NBA player Chris Taft, and together they have 3 children; Kayla, David, and Ethan. They reside in Nashville, TN.

It was through teaching this Power Yoga she began to weave her love of Christ into her classes.

"There is no arrival at perfect, just practice."
